Employee Spotlight – Max Pietri

Where are you originally from?

I was born and raised in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida. I attended school with various drafting and architecture courses prior to my high school graduation. Since then, all of my hard work and dedication has led me to great success where I was immediately recognized by various firms.

How long have you been part of the DU family?

I’ve dedicated 15 years of bright ideas here at The Decorators Unlimited. Working with many experienced senior designers and their brilliant skills in this business, has allowed me to grow and create a wonderful relationship as a family.

Explain a little bit about your role at DU?

My role in this office consist of proposing detailed construction sets of interior design drawings. From analyzing, coordinating and solving countless solutions in new construction and modernizing existing projects. I emphasize in making sure all details come together for an overall elite design. Furthermore, quality in all aspects is my number one priority when it comes to a complete job.

What project has been the most challenging and how did you overcome it?

The most challenging project I’ve worked on was a commercial job located in Orlando, Florida. What inspired me is how our Team came together with such a quick turnaround for a complete set of I.D. Drawings. Consisting of a multi-level apartment rental facility and various typical units with detailed finishes, we succeeded in meeting our client’s expectations. Our number one goal!!!

What do you do in your spare time for fun?

During my spare time, I love spending quality time with my family, working out, and being involved in various outdoor activities. Such as playing and watching family baseball games, fishing, watersport activities and spending time with my Golden Retriever.

If you were to design your own dream home, what is one thing it would need to have in it?

A must have in my dream home would be an open space concept Great Room ideal for large family and friends’ gatherings. Consisting of floor to ceiling folding glass doors accessible to a Covered Loggia where amenities such as an outdoor BBQ, billiards, and a pool are available. My goal is to have all guests feel at home in an indoor/outdoor entertainment vibe, and still feel comfortable.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on lately?

The most interesting project I’ve worked on lately was the Tallowwood Custom Model located in Boca Raton, Florida. It featured all custom designs throughout, which gave me the ability to become creative when proposing 2D designs with 3D appearances, along with thorough section details. It involved extensive researching for various resources, which put me to the challenge on another completed job!
