Caribbean Interior Design – Sun Serenity

When you think of paradise what do you think of? We think of our alluring Sun Serenity project, which is surrounded by beautiful sandy white beaches, breathtaking ocean views, and oceanfront living. Located in the Cayman Islands, Decorators Unlimited proudly provided our luxury interior design services to Sun Serenity, and this single residential property was beautifully constructed by Encompass Ltd.

Vice President, Jason Lynn, and Senior Interior Designer, Jack Lonetto, had the privilege of heading to the Cayman Islands once again, to work on this jaw-dropping project. The Sun Serenity project, which features beautiful Caribbean interior design details, encompasses six beautifully designed bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a fully functional kitchen, an illuminated bar, a breezy backyard oasis, and so much more!

A unique feature of this project is that the space is designed as a multi-family or multi-group resort space.  When you entire, there’s the openness of the public gathering space tied together with private spaces throughout.

Decorators Unlimited wanted to design a warm, modern interior that didn’t employ the typical “beach” cliché design, such as the use of dolphins, starfish, etc.  In order to achieve this goal, Senior Interior Designer, Jack Lonetto, looked to the water and sky for the color palette and implemented textural elements that had a “beach” feel. “Things like faux eel skin wallpaper in select areas, textural carpet that felt like waves, some woven furniture in modern forms helped us capture the light and airy feel of the ocean,” Lonetto explained. The Decorators Unlimited team also looked at employing the colors that are not typically used but are present in the landscape. This includes the dark plum/purple tones of the evening sky, the blacks of sea urchins, and the unexpected colors for character.

When these South Florida Interior Designers were asked what they liked best about working in the Cayman Islands, they answered, “Beyond the fact that it was a great team to work with and a great project to work on, there’s something memorable about swimming to a job site.”
